Michael D. Becraft, 48, Knightstown, died Jan. 31, 2007 at Henry County Memorial Hospital.

Born July 4, 1958 in Rushville, he was the son of Wayne H. Becraft and the late Dorothy Safewright Becraft. He was raised in Rushville and graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School, Class of 1976. He married Janet M. Williamson Sept. 11, 1987 and she survives.

Mr. Beacraft was a welder and pipe fitter by trade and worked at Eli Lilly. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Knightstown, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Indiana Gun Club and U.S. Parachute Association. He was an adventure extremist, an experienced skydiver and was a skydiving video technician. He was also an avid angler and fished the Red Man's Circuit.

In addition to his wife Janet, survivors include one daughter, Caitlin of Knightstown; his father, Wayne of Rushville; one brother Richard (wife Phyllis) of Mitchell; one sister Beth (Mrs. Doug) Jarman of Rushville; mother & father-in-law Stanley and Jan Williamson of Williamsburg; several nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mark Tabb officiating. Burial will follow at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at Todd Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the National Wild Turkey Federation Madison County Indiana Chapter with envelopes available at the funeral home.

I remember my brother & me playing cub league baseball with Mike and his brother Richard. Mike's Dad, Wayne, was one of our coaches and the picture is attached. Ironically, my brother and I looked at the cub leage photo this past weekend after coming back from the cemetery and seeing Mike's grave.
