      I applied through other source. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association (United States)

      Interview

      There is no job interview. Once you get your license you apply to the union and they will probably take you on as an Applicant. Once you sail for a year as an applicant, and get a couple senior officers to say that you are a decent seaman, the union will take you on as a Full Member.
