Great values, but understaffed and under paid

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Typical day is coming in taking care of individuals according to their care plan. Prepping food, bathing, personal care , feeding and assistance with wheelchair individuals with disabilities . Hardest part is not having staff willing to help. The most enjoyable part is the people we are taking care of.

Pros

The people your helping

Cons

Pay

Amazing individuals, stressful management

At lifetime assistance, you will form bonds and create amazing friendships with the individuals. However after working here I quickly became frustrated with management. As with most jobs people feel frustrated with management. Since there is such a shortage in staff, management is more willing to let things slide from employees that shouldn’t. Working with the individuals has changed my life for the better, they teach you so many amazing life lessons. Coming to work everyday puts a huge smile on my face. However management has brought me and many others to look elsewhere.

Love the individuals not a fan of the company

Push away hard workers, over work them and keep the staff who are lazy who just sit on there phones pay is not ok for how much work we take on. Just need to find a good house with a good manager and you’ll be okay otherwise good luck

Awful leadership

Director of Community services was awful. Toxic culture, no recognition, given little to no training and then penalized for not knowing things. No growth opportunities.

Loved the individuals, did care for the people

Honestly, i loved my individuals. I loved taking care of them and spending time with them. But LiFeTime just hires anybody. They will put anyone in a managerial position. The people make it hard for you to work. It’s almost as worst as a call center. No respect, terrible communication, and they just want to work you like a slave. They have an issue if you have a life outside of them. In some houses, it’s extremely unprofessional. You really have to have the heart to take care of the individuals to even consider staying. The stars i put were specifically for my individuals. With the training and the “hands-on” working in the house, i learned a lot and I’m thankful but it’s not a healthy work environment

Rewarding and fun

Fun high energy entry-level job. Revolving door but will keep you around if you're good. Lots of hrs available and can move up pretty quickly. Open interviews on Wednesdays

Great place to work, amazing staff and meaningful job.

Very meaningful job, great staff that are supportive and willing to help out. I loved working with the people that lived there. Manager was understanding of restrictions due to pregnancy. I enjoyed going to work and it was hard to leave.

Pros

Great scheduling, great team atmosphere

Cons

I had to relocate or I would have kept the job.

I love the job not the politics

What is the best part of working at the company? They offer a generous amount of paid time off. The benefits are better than many other placesWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? The most stressful thing is there are more bosses than workers, and they do not communicate with each other very wellWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Fairly laid back and generally friendly What is a typical day like for you at the company?Starts off fairly laid back but can quickly become cayotic

Fun workplace

Outings, functions and safety. More work is added along the way but way to little pay. If they offered more pay they would have more employees for all the jobs they want us to do.

Cons

No break, too much work and not enough pay

Dead end job

Low pay. Bad management. Low to no advancement . Over worked and underpaid . A lot of payroll issues. Check shortages and mistakes with pto. I would not recommend

Decent Job but unrealistic goals

Very independent job, supervisors are great, management is ok. Clients are great however the billing requirements are unrealistic and any holiday/PTO/ or sick time count against your billable hours, which management constantly bugging staff about.

Poor leadership

Very easy job. poor leadership. Your thoughts and ideas do not get heard. Staff was clicky and everyone quick to call quality or justice center. takes quality over a month to complete an incident. Just keep to yourself is best option.

Nothing bad to say, nothing good to say either

Management isn’t as flexible as they say they are. Not a very friendly environment to work in. It’s an easy job and benefits are okay. They just have some leadership issues

Good Core Values Poor Leadership

Those at the top do not want to hear about those at the “bottom”. Ideas are dismissed. No HR. The problem isn’t the lack of staff- it’s how the staff are treated.

Chaos

What is the best part of working at the company?Working with the individuals is by far the best part of the agency. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The entire agency is poorly ran and overwhelmingly stressful. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Very cut throat and stressful. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Expect anything to happen. From no staff showing up to work to having no staff on top of sending several individuals out unnecessarily to the hospital.

Enjoyable

Great place to work overall. Rewarding to assist people with learning how to be more independent. However, watch out for rumors from coworkers and management.

A Disheartening non enjoyable work environment

It was good in the beginning…then it quickly changed to not so good. If you like being ignored / disrespected and taken advantage of by management then this is the place for you.

Pros

Spending time with the individuals

Cons

No help from management staff, mandation

not a fun place

at first the job wasnt bad and it was somewhat enjoyable. as time went on it slowly dreaded. the staff talked horribly about others, management didnt seem to really care about what staff has to say with trying to make the work place better, and being mandated almost every day would start to get annoying because staff would call in last minute to their shifts. trying to use PTO was a hassle because requests sheets would be thrown in trash bins and having to constantly remind management on an update for pto requests. It felt like if you werent a manager or house favorite trying to request time off was not approved. working with the individuals was a fun and enjoyable time because you got to learn about each of them and become close with who you take care of.
