When Doc Skinner retired as the longtime hitting coach for the San Diego Padres, he lived a simple life aboard his boat at the Island Marina. Taylor James, one of his former (and favorite) players was in a cabin cruiser across the way, and the daughter of his closest friend stayed in a sailboat two slips over.
When Doc and his boat suddenly disappear out of the blue, it’s all hands on deck as the cast of characters from the marina search for their missing friend—unaware of the seriousness of the situation and the danger they are in.
Did loan sharks (or real sharks) get Doc? Did it have something to do with what he gave to the waitress and her young son? Was it possible the coach just pulled up anchor and took off? It could be any of these scenarios, or none of the above.

About the author
Lee Silber has written 25 books in 25 years including the award-winning "Creative Person" series for Random House, the popular "Organizing From The Right Side Of The Brain" for St. Martin's Press, and "The Wild Idea Club", now in it's third printing for Career Press. In fact, his books have been through 77 printings and are available in several languages.
Lately, Lee is releasing books at a rapid rate. Within the year Silber will have a total of 26 titles in print which include: 16 business books, 6 novels, 3 self-help titles, and one parenting guide.
Silber goes to great lengths to research his novels. For, "The Homeless Hero" he lived on the streets of San Diego for a week. To write "Sunshine," Lee met with his dying friend every Wednesday for six months. In his novel, "The Pelican" the main character struggles mightily with his demons—and Silber did the same for a two-month period while writing the book. To make sure the dive scenes were correct for, "The Splendid Splinter" Lee did several dives at the same spot (off a remote island) for authenticity. Lastly, for "Runaway Best Seller," Silber lived on Kauai—just like his character.
Silber's newest release is about a girl who wants to play Little League with the boys, and is lucky to have a former Major League player to help her. "Jimmy and the Kid" is short novel for all ages.
Lee Silber lives in Mission Beach, California with his wife and two sons.

Hard for me not to give away Intel…but, the underwater sequence is full of suspense and realism. As a diver, when I read this part of the story I felt I was underwater myself. Surrounded by the danger and all its anxious moments. So, don’t hold your breath, let it out slowly and get yourself a copy. I look forward to many more books by this author.
