Anchorage resident Lawrence "Larry" Lee Jesclard Jr., 57, died July 21, 2009, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. A service was held in Anchorage at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Klatt Meetinghouse, 11701 Puma St., at 2 p.m.
Mr. Jesclard was born on Feb. 27, 1952, in Portland, Ore., to Lawrence and Ruth (Mangold) Jesclard. He married Candice Jaye Riggs in 1971. He attended Brigham Young University. Mr. Jesclard and his family moved to Alaska permanently when he started working for Bechtel Inc. as an auditor in conjunction with the Alaska pipeline. He later owned several businesses in the fire protection industry. Mr. Jesclard was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and member of the National Fire Protection Association and Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Candi, of Anchorage; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Nanette Jesclard of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Brett Bingham of Anchorage; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Treg Taylor of Anchorage; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Megan Jesclard of Alpine, Utah; daughter and son-in-law, Gigi and John Schaalje of Kernersville, N.C.; daughter, Elizabeth Jesclard of Anchorage; grandchildren, Riggs, Asher, Keane and Holland Jesclard; Madeline and Elizabeth Ellen Bingham; Quincy, London and Romney Taylor; Colette Schaalje, and brother, Paul Jesclard of Portland. Larry will be sorely missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends. He loved the Lord and was motivated by his love of the Heavenly Father and his fellow men to follow the commandment from the Lord, "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."
