Name: Kelli Collins, husband Tony, two daughters Lindy and Mallory and dog Sage
Location: Viera, Florida
Size: 1740 square feet
Years lived in: 3 years, owned

Kelli and her husband Tony bought this 20-year-old Ranch-style house on Florida’s “Space Coast” sight unseen. “In fact, when I asked our realtor if she’d buy it, she told me that it has good bones but really white walls. That wasn’t a problem for me!” writes Kelli.

“It has an open floor plan, which I wasn’t thrilled about in the first place, but I can’t imagine living without one now! We’ve been here for about three years”

Any advice for creating a home you love? Don’t try to do what you think you should do. Create a space that you enjoy and that’s a reflection of you and your family. We’re crazy, colorful, vibrant and fun so we created a home that makes us feel happy! Gather things that you love and be surrounded by them in your home! Don’t follow trends. Be yourself.

If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? I would love a bigger backyard for a larger garden but I’m happy with what we have here in the Sunshine state. I would love an outdoor shower to rinse off after surfing and the beach….that’s coming soon!

What is your favorite room and why? I love my master bathroom. I had a different vision for it but I’m color blind and it turned out very different from my original plan! I almost painted it a different color after I realized how different it looked in person but I fell in love with it as soon as I started adding decor to the space. I love walking in to a sunny yellow happy bathroom in the morning! Nothing says hello like yellow!
