Mrs. Joyce Fleming was born on August 27, 1949 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Mr. Ernest Fleming and Mrs. Elizabeth Fleming.
She attended the Monitor High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1969 at Fitzgerald High School.
At an early age she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and joined Bethel A.M.E. Church where she attended for many years.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, walking and talking on the telephone.
Joyce was known to speak her mind to everyone she met. To know her was to love her. She will forever be remembered by some of her favorite sayings: “Where they do that at?” “Hey Love,” “I’m a lil’ piece of leather but I’m well put together!” “I can deal with a lil’ drama but dramatic drama is extra!!”
In addition to her father she is preceded in death by siblings: Mr. Edward Fleming, Rev. Helen Leverette and Mrs. Laura Wilson.
She leaves her precious memories to
her children: Jeffery (Wendy) Fleming, Sr. and Katrina Taylor, all of Fitzgerald, Georgia;
14 grandchildren: Travis Fleming of Savannah, Georgia, Kelly (Lashanda) Fleming of New Port News, Virginia, Pecoshia Whipple of Atlanta Georgia, Jeffery Fleming, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida, DeAnthony Fleming, Jartavius Fleming, Brandy Fleming, Destinee Taylor, M’Kiah Taylor, Calvin Taylor, Jarrius Fleming, Jamauree Fleming, Jeremiah Fleming and Elijah Rogers, all of Fitzgerald, Georgia;
nine great grandchildren: Shamyla Hill, Anthony McCray, Wynter Brooks, Cameron Whipple, Lalani Fleming, Leonard “Leo” Fleming and Jyda Felming;
her mother: Mrs. Elizabeth Fleming of Fitzgerald, Georgia;
one sister: Mrs. Annie (Sammie) Peavy of Fitzgerald, Georgia;
nieces and nephews: Tanita (Terrell) Murray, Tyeesha (Larry) Edmonds, Jermaine Wilson all of St Petersburg, Florida; Kevin Coney and fiancé, Tara Thornton, Teresa (Alfonzo) Williams, Shonta (Michael) Wilcox, Lakisha Fleming, all of Fitzgerald, Georgia; Jamel Fleming of Jacksonville, Florida;
a special friend: Ms. Angie Hall of Fitzgerald, Georgia;
