James Carl Johnson, 87 years, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lake City, Florida. Carl was born in Adams County, Ohio, on January 2, 1931, and the son of the late Blanchard Johnson and Edna Daulton Johnson. Carl attended and graduated high school in Peebles, Ohio, and then joined the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Korea. After his discharge of honorable service, Carl worked for and retired from the General Telephone Company. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a wife, Ruth Imogene Johnson, two sisters, Sharon Setty and Betty Conley, and one brother, Ray Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dorothy Rude Johnson, whom he married on June 7, 1980. Carl is also survived by four brothers, Richard Johnson, Bucky Johnson, Jerry Johnson, and Danny Johnson, all of Peebles, Ohio; and three sisters, Lorene Couser, Norma Binion, and Debbie Johnson, all of Peebles, Ohio. Four Children, Carmilla K. Womack (Michael) of NC, George T. Johnson (Becky) of Hillsboro, Ohio, Sue Blakely (Howard) of Lake City, Florida, Richard Hodson of Lake City, Florida, 11 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. Carl also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
