Overall good place , good pay and benefits, can be extreme temperatures at times, sometimes fast paced and overtime.
Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Reading, PA - June 30, 2021
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOverall good place, good pay and benefits, can be extreme temperatures and fast paced with overtime. Sometimes work life balance can be not great but overtime pay and mostly good benefits somewhat make up for that.

The employees get a long with one another. Management does not seem to have the employees best interest at heart. You always feel on edge.
Lead Machine operator & Plant Scheduler/Planner (Former Employee) - Cambridge, MD - September 6, 2020
The company is strong while management is very weak. The work is not hard but you are often required to work 6 or 7 days a week to keep up with what the company says are company needs.
Pros
Exployee recognition
Cons
Short breaks (20 min & 10 min) and no backing from HR.

Consistent work
Employee (Current Employee) - USA - May 12, 2020
There are many hard working people who are not appreciated. So much turnover it is hard to know what direction the company is going.
Interstate was bought by DSSmith and there is a lack of direction.
Pros
Steady work
Cons
Lack of direction

Assistant Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Reading, PA - January 22, 2020
If your fine staying quiet and alone, punch in and out for a pay check good place to work. There no fun or trust there. People will sell you out to get a pat on the head from management. Management treats employees like dirt if you don't play there game.

Never see your family
Maitenance Technician (Current Employee) - Cambridge, MD - February 21, 2019
The pay is good enough where you cant afford to leave..they tell you we work an occasional saturday we have worked basically every saturday for 2 years and most sundays alot of 12 hkur shifts and get NO PAYED SICK DAYS DESPITE MARYLAND LAW and the biggest problem is if you stay over and cover and come in on all your days off work 57 days straight you CANT leave 10 minutes early for a kids school FUNCTION. You CANT be a minute late (even working 84 to 96 hours a week it doesnt matter if you working night shift then day shift with no rest) they want you to forget about anything in your life and devote everything to them without being willing to work with you.... But sallary people can do whatever they want and office people work 35 to 40 hour weeks with payed sick days etc......

Poorly managed sweat shop
Maintenance Manager (Former Employee) - Cambridge, MD - August 20, 2018
Dirty, poorly run facility that expects big improvements with little investment, training, or incentive. I wouldn't recommend anyone work there that didn't have to.
