I brought my wife whom is very healthy with no medical conditions in to inter mountain healthcare emergency department in St George utah for chest pain that was radiating to her back. As we arrived to the ER it was busy as you could see by the amount of people in the ER waiting room. They took my wife back within ten minutes of arriving. I was appreciative and left to park the car. I arrived back to find my wife in an ER holding room moaning and crying in pain. I stepped outside of the room to find out what we needed to do to relieve the discomfort and pain, I encountered Carolyn, a registrar for IHC, whom was extremely rude and uncaring related to my wife's pain and discomfort, she stated, "we've done an EKG and she's not having a heart attack so its obviously anxiety related" I asked her "can you hear my wife moaning in pain" and she replied "she'll be fine" and returned to looking at her computer. I couldn't believe the disdain of her demeanor and attitude as my wife moaned in pain. I returned to my wife in utter disbelief. We eventually were taken back to see the MD and nurse whom were professional and took good care of my wife. I write this review in hopes to train and educate the frontline staff to remember they are the first ones the patients and family encounter when unfortunate and unexpected health related issues occur requiring the need of trained health care professionals.
