Hired Howard for several repairs which he finished, however, a few months after absolutely everything he's done is falling apart, leaking or just was not done in a professional manner. He acts knowledgeable and comes across at times arrogant. In short, I had to hire a proper handyman to fix all his shoddy jobs. Will not hire him again and to everyone else, save your money and find a top rated handyman.

Howard has done work for me for years without issue until this last job. He was asked to tile floor and shower walls in our kids bathroom. He made a mess, showed up intermittently, did not check the shower door when it arrive (parts were damaged causing delays). Dumped grout on our lawn and driveway and disappeared. Many calls and texts to him went unanswered and finally we got a one line response that he could not finish the job with no explanation. I have referred him to many friends and family and we will not EVER be using him again. Beware, he is shady and can not be trusted.

I hired The Little Guy Handyman to replace a couple of front windows. He said he could do it and we set a date.

He was here half an hour, removed panes from both windows and then left. After a while of hearing silence I went to check the front bedroom to see what was going on.

He had burned my walls, trim and floor. Photo attached.

Do not hire this person to fix your house. He is not a licensed contractor and has been cited by the California State Licensing Board for false advertising.

I, too, wish I would've seen these reviews before hiring him.
I found Howard's advert on Craigslist:

He's a thief.

He started a project for us, and we gave him some money (stupid, I know) to get supplies he said he needed and he just....went away.
I tried calling and texting him, to no avail.
He ignored me and I've never heard from him again.
Don't trust this fellow or the good reviews on here. I suppose one might get decent service from him, but it isn't worth the risk, unless you have unlimited resources for your project.

What a great service to work with.  I sent out several requests through yelp for handyman services to repair a large drywall hole and stucco work, the little guy handyman service responded quickly and his quote for the work was very reasonable, the best deal.  He started the work , in couple of days , on time, fully prepared and one visit later (to allow for drying times) things were patched and prepared to perfection. He didn't accept the payment until the completion of the job .
I highly recommend howard Helm and passing the name on to friends and neighbors looking for handyman services.

Howard Helm is truly a scammer!!! He is not only a fraud in his professional work life, but a fraud within his family life!!!!! Howard Helm is completely unprofessional after reading this reviews it brings to light what my family had already suspected. He is trying to set my daughter up as a bad caregiver, because they have been in disagreement over childcare rates!! After agreeing to sign the contract Howard & his wife Shannon found a way to frame her as a bad caregiver, they did this to get out of paying her for her services! These people are hagglers, scams, & I hope this review helps you make a better choice then picking this so called construction worker.

Should have checked here first. Luckily didn't lose anything but time. Was contracted to install 2 windows. He Showed up, decided the job was too hard (he didn't say that though) Said he needed to make a new estimate and would call right back. Then he ghosted. Completely unprofessional. Thanks... we scheduled our days around this job and are left with non installed windows sitting in our living room. I should have done more diligence on this guy. So my bad I guess.

I wish I would've seen these reviews before hiring him. We found Howard on Craigslist. He did a great job painting for us, overpriced though. I even hooked him up with an ongoing job with my complex. We liked him so we asked him back to mount ankth tv. He said He wanted to do the drywall from a kitchen leak to, to make the drive to Fairfield worth it. I didn't want him to cuz I was still trying to get more money from insirance for repairs, but he insisted. He did a bad job (says two other contractors that came separate from each other). One even said he'd have to redo it and id have toboay again. Howard didn't even clean up or sand. He put plaster in places that weren't even affected by the leak. I think he did this cuz he thought he wanted to come back to install the cabinets. I never agreed to that. I went with home depot for installation and tried to get Howard to complete the drywall. He ignored me and we've never heard from him again. I agree that he's a true scammer. I'm convinced the good reviews are from the people whom haven't been screwed yet.

I had Howard come last summer to do put in some recessed lighting and to remodel a small bathroom. I had no problem with him or his work after completion of the recessed lighting but when it came time to complete the bathroom remodel he texted me the day before he was due to start saying it would cost more than we had agreed upon. When I told him I wouldn't pay more and wanted my deposit back for the bathroom remodel he quit responding to my messages. He's a total scammer and I would never use him again in the future. I am only giving two stars because one of my two projects was completed to my satisfaction.

I would give him only a 1/2 star if I could. After he left in the middle of job I finally got a hold of him to get my keys back. I foolishly let him finish but the end result is very unprofessional. Don't use him
