Glenn Curtis O'Dell, 83, of Amarillo died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Glenn Curtis O'Dell, 83, of Amarillo died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Ken Brown and the Rev. Gus Blackwell officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. O'Dell was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Amarillo to Manoah S. and Myrl Arnold O'Dell. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949. He joined the Marines in 1950. Mr. O'Dell ran numerous businesses in Amarillo and retired from the construction business. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Vesta Orr, Hazel Gardner and Jackie Kienle; a brother, Dale O'Dell; and two grandsons.

Survivors include two sisters, Mateel Brown and husband Millard of Amarillo and Myrl Blackwell of Midwest City, Okla.; a brother, M.S. O'Dell Jr. and wife Nelva of Minden, La.; two sons, Benny Glenn O'Dell and Davey Glenn O'Dell; two daughters; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two special great-nieces, J'Lea and Felicity; longtime employee and friend, Dwayne Wilson; and loyal companion, Rafael, his chihuahua.

The family suggests memorials be to Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo, 1923 S. Lincoln St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
