Glenn D. Doyle
Glennis "Glenn" Dexter Doyle, 61, of 1968 Golden Isles, Baxley, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
He was born in the Snow Creek section of Franklin County on Aug. 16, 1941, a son of the late Henry Richard Doyle and the late Mary Virginia McMillian Doyle.
He was self-employed as a boat manufacturer in Baxley.
Surviving are his wife, Robin Doyle, and daughter, Katie Doyle, of the home; four sons, James "Jimmy" Doyle of Lakeland, Fla., John Doyle of Nashville, Tenn., and Glenn Doyle Jr. and Richard "Richie" Doyle, both of Columbia, S.C.; three sisters, Shirley Dudley of Penhook, and Jean Thompson and Carol Faye Shelton, both of Bassett; five brothers, Wesley Doyle of Ridgeway, Gary Doyle of Smith Mountain Lake, Bud Doyle of Reidsville, N.C., Jerry Lee Doyle of Penhook and Curtis Doyle of Rome, Ga.; three grandchildren; and 23 nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville with Minister Berlin Hanks officiating. Burial will be in Snow Creek Christian Church cemetery.
Visitation is being held at the home of his sister, Carol Shelton, 80 Contentment Lane, Bassett. The family also will be at Norris Funeral Services one hour prior to the funeral Friday to receive friends.
