GEORGE DIRLAM OBITUARY

Memorial service for George Hartman Dirlam, 84, Astor, who died Sun., Feb. 11, 2007, in Astor, will be 2 p.m. Sat., Feb. 17, at Mr. Dirlam's home in Astor. Born July 2, 1922, in Honesdale, Pa., Mr. Dirlam lived in Florida since 1945 and was a resident of Daytona Beach and Astor since 1964. He was the owner and operator of Daytona Beach Millworks. Mr. Dirlam and his millworks had many projects for the area, ranging from Daytona Beach, Ormond, DeLand We1come Station, West Coast, St. Pete, the East Coast from St. Augustine to Melbourne and many more. Many of the projects were for churches, schools and banks. He was anArmy veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Dirlam, Astor; son, Edward Dirlam, Samsula; three stepsons, Al, Tom and Mike Donnon; two stepdaughters, Joann Gaither and Cindy Donnon; four grandchildren, Ethan, Melissa, Kevin and Tiffany; great-grandson, Evan; six step-grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, LeAnne, Chasidy, A.T. and Brendan; and two step-great-grandchildren, Max and Katie. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Hospice of Lake and Sumter Counties and The American Cancer Society. Beyers Funeral Home, Astor.
