SIKESTON -- Gene Edward Bittle, 82, died Jan. 11, 2009 at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 7, 1926 in St. Louis, son of the late Frank and Fannie Bittle, he had worked as a pin setter mechanic for 27 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
He married Mary Jane White and she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 1992.
He is survived by one step son: Don Huey of Sikeston.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ponder Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
