WAYNESBORO, Ga. — Mr. Earnest Walker, of 4355 Highway 80 E., died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997,
at University Hospital, Augusta. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Allen Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. E.J. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Walker, a native of Burke County, retired from Castleberry as a maintenance employee. He was a member of Allen Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and chief of the usher board.
He was a member of McKinney Branch Society, Goldstreet Lodge No. 17, OFF/F and AA York Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria McCullough Walker; six sons, Earnest Walker Jr., Shadie Walker and
Horace Walker, all of New Jersey, Bennie Walker, Waynesboro, and Carl Walker and
Charles Walker, both of Pennsylvania; seven daughters, Laura Walker Jones, Martha Shorte and Polly Joyner, all of Newark, N.J., and Dorothy Holliway, Sarah Walker, Deloris Barren and Willie Mae Feredirard, all of New York; a brother, Orner Lee Walker, Augusta; three sisters, Ellen Sims, New York, Estell Crawford and Queen Patrick, both of Augusta; and 66 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the Goldstreet Lodge No. 17 OFF/F AA York Masons.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Allen Chapel Baptist Church and their sons.
