Great! Went in for tooth pain and he answered all my questions happily and without rush.
It took a little while to get into the office because I was waiting to hear back from my insurance company - they wouldn't see me until certain of my insurance or me putting down a deposit. I ended up charging my card and they refunded me after I heard back from my insurance during my appointment.
Another dentist told me I needed my wisdom teeth out and he explained that it might not be necessary (and definitely wasn't needed in the near future) because my wisdom teeth weren't that developed and there might be room for them to grow in without issue.

Excellent doctor, but somehow even better staff. The entire team is upbeat, courteous, and professional. I can't emphasize enough how good they are at what they do -- if you can get down to Edgewood check them out.

I made an appointment with Zocdoc for December 30, 2016. When I got to the dentist office, I was told that they did not see my appointment from Zocdoc. I brought a printed copy of the confirmation so they fit me in to see Dr. Lawton. They were able to print out the paperwork I filled out online, although they didn’t see the appointment.
I meet with Dr. Lawton, my mouth was x-rayed and he examined the tooth that was giving me problems. I felt that he was a good dentist and he was very nice. I thought that this may be the dentist I would like to continue seeing. He informed me that his staff would contact my insurance company and then refer me to a specialist regarding my tooth. I waited a few days and I never heard back from his staff. So, I called to their office to find out about the specialist. They informed that they were still trying to verify my insurance.
I called the dental office back on Monday, January 9, 2017 and gave them all the insurance information and the telephone number where they could verify my insurance. This was given to me from the insurance company. I called back on Wednesday, a couple of days later, I had to leave a couple of messages for them to please call me back about the referral, pain medication and setting up an appointment with Dr. Lawton. I finally got through to someone, and the person at the front desk called me by name before I could tell her who I was. I asked her if I could set up another appointment with Dr. Lawton. She left me on hold for about 10 minutes. While I was on hold, I decided to make an appointment through Zocdoc for Wednesday, January 18th. It was obvious that she wasn’t going to make the appointment. When I told her I was making the appointment online then she stated she could fit me in on Thursday, January 19th at 9am.
After that conversation, I thought all was well. I got a call from Modern Dental on Tuesday, January 17th, the front desk informed me that she needed me to give her my dental insurance information again. With her calling me a couple of days about my insurance just before my appointment, I knew this couldn’t be good. I informed her that I got confirmation with Zocdoc that my appointment with Dr. Lawton was for Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 9am. She stated, it was still scheduled for Thursday, January 19th. I told my husband then, she was setting it up to tell me that the doctor would be out on that Thursday.
I was right, I get a telephone call from her today, Thursday, January 18th, she informed me that the dentist would not be able to see me because he was out of the country. She referred me to a specialist and then stated, if he doesn’t accept my insurance call her back. However, that was the point of their office referring me to someone who did accept my insurance.
As much as the dentist was very nice and professional, his staff…….WOW!! Needless to say, they don’t have to worry about me calling their office again.

He was more about making money and less about whats medically necessary. I went in for a chipped tooth, he told me I needed to remove it and have an implant. That seemed a bit extreme, I went to another dentist and he suggested a crown (which I did). At no point he thought I should remove the tooth.

I was honestly not super pleased with Dr. Lawton. He's a nice guy, but I feel like he uses a fear tactic to get his patients to brush and floss regularly. I have never had any problems with my teeth, not even a cavity, and am faithful about going every 6 months, but he still made me feel like I did something wrong. He even suggested I probably grind my teeth at night, although there was no indication of that. I also thought it was strange that the hygienist did not do the cleaning, but rather an assistant and she seemed to be struggling a bit.
They also did not show me the x-rays which was a little disappointing. I like for the dentist to show me the x-rays and walk me through to make sure everything looks good.
Other than that, the office was very nice and clean and everyone was friendly. I do not think I will be back, however.

Overall good office. I waited a good amount of time which was not so good. The doctor confirmed that I understood the process which I really liked. He also seemed knowledgeable about dental care. I will be coming back to this doctor.

My first visit to Dr. Lawson's practice was amazing.. The time taking to explain my procedures were clear. I was comfortable from the front office to the back and with the professionalism of a young minority man making a outstanding difference in Atlanta.

My appointment was actually with Dr. Green. I expressed my anxiety about dentist visits and she made me feel at ease. She explained what procedure I needed done and made sure I understood what was about to happen. Even though dentist visits are still not my number one thing to do, I feel better about returning in three months.

This was my first dentist visit in years after a terrible experience. I went expecting my 10:30 appointment meant I would go back around 11. To my surprise I was called back on time.
The hygienist was amazing. She was very personable, very gentle but effective. The dentist was very nice and to the point. I wasn't pressured to do unnecessary treatments or procedures. This place is amazing. I won't every leave.

Best dentist visit ever! Everyone in the office is insanely friendly and efficient. The hygienist explained everything she was doing and educated me a lot. There's a TV in every room with Netflix, Hulu, etc. The best part of the whole visit was when someone came in and went through a thorough breakdown on paper of the charges for the visit, what my insurance covered, and what was due. The transparency felt so refreshing. Everyone here is awesome and the energy of the place makes going to the dentist 100% less terrible. Highly recommend!
