Mr. Ellsworth A. "Pete" Tietz II, 86, of Bartlesville, died at 3:28 A.M. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Bartlesville Health & Rehab Facility.

Mr. Tietz was born on January 24, 1927 at Centralia, Kansas the son of Ellsworth A. Tietz Sr. and Josie (Gallion) Tietz. He grew up and received his education in Kansas and then in the Borger, Texas area until moving to California. He returned to Texas, entered the U.S. Army serving during World War II from May of 1945 to November of 1949. Following his Honorable Discharge he returned to the Borger area for several years until moving to San Dimas, California to make his home. He was active for many years in the construction industry as a carpenter and drywall contractor, primarily in building high rises in Los Angeles and in Hawaii until his retirement in 1989. He had also been involved in the ministry at the Four Square Church in the San Dimas area.

Mr. Tietz was first married to Madge Laverne Rice and later was married to Marion Luchsinger for a number of years until her death in 1969. He then married his wife Bonnie and she also preceded him in death. Mr. Tietz moved to Bartlesville to make his home in 2005.

Mr. Tietz is survived by one son, Ellsworth Tietz III and his wife Pat of Broken Arrow, Okla., two daughters, Carol Lynn McGrath and husband Randy of Fort Collins, Colorado and Sharon Meredith and husband John of San Dimas, California, one brother, Kenneth Tietz of Fort Stockton, Texas, three sisters, Norma Braden and husband Bill of Osawatomie, Kansas, Velma Lawson and husband Jack of Borger, Texas and Peggy Reece of Bakersfield, California, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Tietz will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike McDougan, Chaplain of Comforting Hands Hospice officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105 and funeral services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
