Dear Lester Family,

I am very sorry for your loss of Don.  It is really a loss for Calhoun County in general.  In Don Lester, I found a real friend.  He took care of the Hall family for years, then when I had a family of my own  the Russells received the same great treatment.  
The following sums it up for me.  When I left for college, I never failed to stop by the Pharmacy when I came home.  I have a vivid recollection of stepping up to stand on the bottom shelf so I could visit with Don eye to eye.  If I had plans for the evening that would wait until I pulled in to catch up with Don. I will treasure that memory.  In later years when I would run in to pick up a prescription, he never failed to greet me and ask about my family. It was real; it was genuine. That was Don.  I know you are all blessed with many beautiful memories of a wonderful man.  I pray that you find strength in God during the coming months.

Dear Pat, I wanted to write and offer you my deepest sympathies on your loss. Don was a huge influence on me during all those afternoons I waited for guitar lessons at Collins Music. He was one of the first adults who talked to me like I wasn't a kid and I can't tell you what it meant to me that he did so. He was one of the kindest, funniest and most giving people I have ever known.  He watched out over all of us, all those years we spent having lunch at The Pharmacy, making sure we stayed on the right path. He also kept my whole family well and dispensed good advice, along with the medicine. He will always hold a very special place in my memories and in my heart. Please pass my condolences along to Lesley, Tommy, and Lesa.

My sincerest condolences to the Lester family.  I can remember when The Pharmacy was the place to go and eat lunch when I attended Travis Middle School.  My parents had an account and Don & Buck were told on several occasions not to let us (Me and my siblings) come in and get whatever we wanted and to charge it to my parents account.  But Mrs. Lester and The Pharmacy staff knew who we were and would let us continue to come in get what we wanted and we would just say "charge it" and they would.  I know that the times you had left with Don were some of the best times.  Keep the memories alive and they will help you to get through this grief.

Dear Pat,
Just recently I had been thinking about Don. Reminiscing of the fond memories I had as a teenager working in the pharmacey and spending many late evenings at your home, just talking and watching T.V. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take Care.

Dear Family,
Mr. Lester was so good to our family as our pharmacist.  I trusted him so much and he once caught a doctor's error in dosage for my daughter, who was very young at the time.  His "remedies" are still used in our household today.  Thank you for sharing him with our whole community.

I grew up working at The Pharmacy-Don was a roit.  Of course I never knew what he was going to say, he kept me on my toes!  Such a generous man!  I will miss him greatly but smile everytime I think of him!

Dear Pat and family,
We will miss Don and his presence in PL. He is one in a million and always so caring. You and Don were so helpful to me when I was just a young silly new teacher. Gary says Don was the source of all his really good jokes that Gary used on his fishing charters. Don will be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Lester family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Don was a very special person indeed and will be greatly missed. I have such fond memories of him, even up until his last stay in the hospital...always had to keep the hip waders handy, cause you never knew how deep it was going to get when talking to him :)  I pray for ya'll's family during this time that God's loving arms can ease your pain and give you strength.
