Dollar Tree Stores Inc Reviews
What is it like working at Dollar Tree Stores Inc?
Pretty easy.
Sales Associate in Mobile:
Pros: Flexible schedule, it's not hard work
Cons: Corporate management doesn't allow enough hours for enough people to get everything done, that needs to be done.
Overall a relatively easy job if you have any math and people skills.
Cashier in Boise:
Pros: They have trust in my ability to do my job at a high level.
Cons: The hourly rate of pay.
Dollar dollar, penny and dime.
Retail Cashier:
Pros: Nice small retail environment, clear objectives, depending on area you have nice customers and ddpending on the site, nice coworkers as well.
Flexible schedules are the norm here as well for part timers and to some extent assistant managers.
Cons: Everyone gets paid badly but have to work just as hard if not harder than bigger retail stores like Walmart. Managers are often always stocking or doing other work alongside the part time associates. You get a lot of customers because of the great prices which means a lot to clean up, stock, and organize.
Also, their policy of only giving 20hrs a week to part timers and having 12-14 stockers makes it hard for a dedicated part timer to earn enough money to live from one job. Its even worse for assistants and managers who have 3x the work for only a dollar or two more an hour.
Work flexibility.
Cashier:
Pros: Work flexibility.
Cons: Salary.
Good.
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Pros: Interacting with people.work flexibility.perks.
Cons: The stress level.
I am working because I love working with the public.
Cashier:
Pros: Talking and communicating with the people I serve. Listening to some of.
Their stories. Knowing I have helped someone really makes me feel good.
Cons: They are cutting our hours because of store transformation.
Assistant Store Manager:
Pros: I've been there for so long I have a lot of regulars(customers). I like coming into work and seeing the smiles on my cashiers and customers when they see me. I like the hours because I drive my son to and from school so I get to close my store during the week.
Cons: What I like least is that the store I'm at is one of the biggest ones and when we don't make sales we have to cut employees and the first one to be cut is my floor help so that means not only am I doing my job I'm also wringing a register and cleaning the whole store plus putting every piece of merchandise back. I get pto and sick pay that I am hardly able to use because"it's not a good time" and it gets taken and I punch out for a unpaid 30 min break but don't actually take it I'm usually being called to wring on a register because there's a line.
