TDOC Wardens Named

NASHVILLE - Commissioner Gayle Ray has announced the appointment of three correctional professionals to wardens' positions within the Tennessee Department of Correction.

David Osborne has been named Warden of the Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg.  Mr. Osborne has 33 years of progressive experience and is retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections.  He replaces former Warden David Mills, who was named TDOC Deputy Commissioner.

Sharon C. Taylor, PhD., has been named Warden of the Mark Luttrell Correctional Center in Memphis.  Dr. Taylor has been the Correctional Prinicipal at Northeast Correctional Complex where she supervised the academic, vocational and library programs, coordinated the pre-release program and worked with gang members on victim impact awareness.  She will assume her duties on May 10, 2010.

David Sexton has been named Warden at the Northeast Correctional Complex.  Mr. Sexton began his career as a Correctional Officer at the Brushy Mountain Prison and rose through the ranks to deputy warden and now warden.  He will assume his duties on May 1, 2010 and replaces Warden Howard Carlton who is retiring.
