Curtis Crews - Montgomery College Germantown                                          Curtis Crews
              Montgomery College Germantown Basketball

                          Freshman,  Germantown, Maryland

Curtis played in the Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries Youth Basketball Summer League in 2000, 2001 Curtis Crewsand 2002.  Playing for the YBSL Senior Division Seventy-Sixers, Curtis was on the 2000 Senior Division Championship team.  Curtis also played on the 2000 & 2001 BCWB 16U AAU RimRocker Basketball Team.

Curtis inside play lead his YBSL team to a  3 and 3 regular season record.  While his swift and smooth outside shot keep everybody honest.  At 6 foot 4 to 5 in. during his play on the YBSL, Curtis became the dunking machine every chance afforded to him.  His 2000 YBSL team was full of talent with Thomas Richards (former Thomas Johnson standout), Amanda Jones (currently playing basketball at ), Bradly Wiley (Frederick High standout), Jerod Lyons (St. Johns Prospect Hall standout) and Greg Mason (Walkersville High standout).

While only 15 years old, Curtis lead our 16U AAU RimRocker Basketball team to wins over powerhouse AAU clubs from Montgomery County, Fairfax county and Baltimore County.   While we never won a state title, every team gave Curtis and the other players much respect.

Curtis is currently playing basketball for the Montgomery College Germantown Basketball team.  After a great freshman season Curtis Crews was selected 2nd team Md All-Juco. The Md Juco Conference consist of 18 junior colleges throughout the state of Maryland. Curtis put up big numbers his freshman year averaging a double-double with 26 ppg and 11 rpg. This goes along with his Region XX All-Tournament team selection.

In what will go down as one of the most  exciting games between MC Germantown and MC Rockville, the MCG men's basketball team came up on the short end with a 83-81 defeat. Both teams were playing with their hearts as they competed for the Region XX Title.  MCG was lead by Curtis Crews who had a big game with 33 points/11 rebounds.  MCG now looks forward to start preparing for next season. The scary thing is that  Banks, Crews, and Fawehinmi along with redshirt sophmore Skylar Tarpley (lead the team in scoring 2002-2003) will all be returning.
