Bishop Theodore Edward Bumpus Sr.

Funeral for Bishop Theodore Edward Bumpus Sr., 74, of Decatur will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Pentecostal House of Prayer with Bishop A.C. Strong, host pastor, and Bishop Jose' Perry, D.D. officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens.
Bishop Bumpus, who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Oct. 10, 1933. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Bumpus, and two brothers,
Theopolis Bumpus and Leroy Bumpus.

He is survived by two sons, Theodore E. Bumpus Jr. of Athens and Charles L. Bumpus of Birmingham; seven daughters, Barbara Crayton, Chinetha Baker and her husband, Charles, Shirley Gaiter and her husband, Willie, Venesha Mallory and her husband, Cleo, and Diane Slaughter, all of Decatur, Linda Hughes of Athens, and Rose M. Gilbert and her husband, Mark, of Franklin, Tenn.; one sister, Mary L. Nero and her husband, Charles, of Metairie, La.; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and extended church family.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
