Elmer C. Murphy
Elmer C. Murphy, 62, of 935 S. Sixth Ave., a retired coal miner died at 3 a.m. today in his home. He had been in ill health several years.
A son of Henry and Josephine (Walk) Murphy, he was born June 24, 1900, in Canton, on October 15, 1921 he was married in Peoria to Flossie Loveland, who survives.
Also surviving are six children, Lester Murphy, Mrs. Donna White, Mrs. Linda Green, Mrs. Sharon Southwood all of Canton, Mrs. Nancy Florea of Pekin, and Mrs. Beverly Lyne of Edwards, and 14 grandchildren.
Three brothers, Clarence, Ray, and Everett Murphy, all of Canton, and three sister, Mrs. Marie Rilea of Liverpool, Mrs. Beulah Bobson and Mrs. Ebel Pollitt, both of Canton, also survive.
Four children and one brother preceded him in death.
Murphy Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
