I'm Asian American born in Asia. I visited Collins 2x requesting an h-
Pylori test. She refused 2x. Thankfully my next door neighbor is a GI doc and he insisted I return. Of course I tested positive my GI doc was shocked she didn't recheck after the course of antibiotics. Which is standard practice.
I had an appendicitis years ago. In front of my daughter, her first words were you look terrible, why don't you make an effort . I was in kidney failure with gfr of 24. I spent 8 days in hospital to bring back my kidney function.
Collins wanted me to do a mammo yearly even though I'm low risk and the American cancer association recommends every 2 years at my age w no risk factors. Lastly. Im having the exact symptoms that I was treated with steroid injections in my neck. Pain management sent her results. I called pain management and they asked me to ask Catherine Collins to order an mri. She made me make appointment and then refused any imaging. Not even an X-ray
If you are of Asian descent do not see her. She's entirely incompetent and uneducated to treat asian American.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John D.Seattle, WA1318407Jan 17, 2020

I have been a patient of Dr Collins for a few years now! I was referred to Dr Collins by a friend who gave glowing remarks about her! She was right! Dr Collins is on top of her game and cares about her patients! She always makes sure I am up to date on my shots and my visits with not only her but other specialists! She is straightforward and tells it like it is and I embrace her honesty! She is a go getter and is very knowledgeable at what she does and goes the extra yard for her patients! She is kind, personable, responsible and everything one would look for in a Doctor! She is popular for a reason and if your looking for a great Doctor give Dr Collins a try like I did! Best move I ever made and now my whole family goes to Dr Collins and we consider ourselves lucky to have found her!

Do not go to Dr Collins. My husband has been her patient for over 10 yrs. I found her brusque and sometimes outright and startlingly rude, but thought she basically knew her stuff so was ok with him seeing her if he wanted to. However, once he developed a chronic, debilitating disease, I decided she was also a poor doctor - she misdiagnosed him, minimizing his symptoms and later referred us to two other doctors who were equally cold and unhelpful. I concluded that not only was she lacking in basic social skills but was professionally untrustworthy.

Dr. Collins is an odd duck. Sometimes she can be friendly and patient, other times she doesn't even attempt to show basic manners like saying hello or making eye contact. She often comes across as blunt, condescending and dismissive. At best it's just rude. At worst, she could be missing valuable information by being dismissive of her patients. I've been a patient of hers for about 5 years and have given her the benefit of the doubt multiple times, but it's time for me to move on to someone with better social skills and professionalism.

I had a very upsetting experience with this doctor a number of years ago and have been meaning to put up a review ever since. I was juggling a young baby and dying mother when I finally found the time for myself to find and see a primary doctor. Knowing this was the only time I might make it out of the house, and not wanting to waste her time, I politely read a list of questions and requests that I had for her such as "I would love to get a referral for a mammogram. I have also been interested in seeing a dermatologist." Before I could finish, she said to me, "I am not a vending machine." I was so shocked that I simply asked her not to speak to me in that manner. Then she kept the argument going. I left her office not intending to return. Within a couple of weeks, I received a letter in the mail from my insurance company stating that she had complained about me to them and would not see me again. I had not even raised my voice; I had simply been assertive in response to her intense rudeness.

Ive had cramps and chest pains for almost a month, they keep telling me to come back if it still hurts, and when I do they tell me to come back again. I have Nexplanon birth control and keep asking them to look into that as a possible factor of my sharp (scary) chest pains but they don't. Switching doctors, they have done nothing for me here.

I called to confirm...Yes, Dr. Collins has moved to Finland; will be there a min of 2 years and her return is questionable. She was awesome and bummed she's gone! I found her when I was very sick and hadn't had a primary doctor, her assistant saw me the next day and gave me the care other doctors offices turned me away for not being their patient.
Dr. Gayatri Khanna is taking her patients and has two physician assistants and very nice receptionist. I will be seeing her for an initial appt in a couple months (due to my schedule, she could have seen me earlier) and will update review at that time.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy W.San Francisco, CA22Jul 26, 2012
The first time I visited Dr. Collins was with a sore throat. She looked at my throat and said she was positive it was strep, took the culture and prescribed me 10 days of antibiotics. After 10 days my throat was still hurting so I called the office for another appointment. They said they could not get me in for an appointment but would prescribe me another round of antibiotics. This did not seem right to me so I called another doctor for an appointment.
The second doctor ran a round of blood tests and discovered that it was mono. She also said that there was no record of the culture ever being processed, so Dr. Collins never sent it to the lab. I have not been back to see Dr. Collins since.Helpful 7Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Melanie Q.San Francisco, CA14Apr 22, 2017
