Butler & Hosch buys Prommis subsidiary Cal-Western Reconveyance

Law firm Butler & Hosch is in the final stages of acquiring the assets of Prommis subsidiary Cal- Western Reconveyance Corporation.

With the acquisition, Butler & Hosch moves into the West Coast market.

Once one of the largest trustee companies in the nation, Cal-Western Reconveyance, a subsidiary of Prommis Solutions, provided non-judicial foreclosure services to mortgage servicers, investors and law firms in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah & Washington.

In March, Prommis Holdings, an Atlanta-based firm that assists mortgage servicers and law firms with foreclosures, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.

As the company reorganized, opportunities for acquisitions became apparent. Default servicing law firm McCalla Raymer, for example, agreed to acquire some of the non-legal functions and assets.

“We are looking forward to working along side the wonderful staff members of this great company,” partner Bob Hosch said. “With this acquisition, Butler & Hosch will be able to provide quality legal representation from Florida, to Texas and California.”
