I've been seeing this fried chicken sammy a-lot lately in my feed and thought this snowy week was a nice time to try it out!

First, it was huge. Definitely two meals for me but would also be good to share with a friend. They have a Hot, medium and Mild option. I ordered the hot breast and loved the spice and cook on my chicken. It was coated really nicely and still very juicy. The coleslaw is very finely chopped which is perfect for this over the top sandwich. It definitely had a move vinegar-y flavor than other FCS I've had, but I personally enjoyed it.

I also loved their chips and queso, you can't find very many spots in the city that serve white queso dio!

My friend ordered the Mild sandwich and liked it but thought hers was a bit dry, I'm not sure if this is because hers didn't come with coleslaw on it.

Drinks were good and the overall atmosphere was awesome. I love that this is a dive bar with good food. You'd think those are a dime a dozen but this place is definitely a gem.

Sexy as hell vibe in here! Rap, hip-hop, old school R & B, Rihanna. This place was packed...when we walked in at 11:45 PM, we looked around and like all tables were taken. This chicken bar/restaurant is so fire. Eventually people left and we got a booth! Yay!

What did I like? Mild breast sandwich. Hands down. Still dreaming of it. Such a delicious meal. Yum. My friend got the adult grilled cheese which was alright. It definitely had some heat. We also had the large french fries which came with ketchup and hot sauce. We ended up getting drinks: Trailways (grapefruit, vodka) and Pina colada. Not bad. Would I go back? Yes. For the love of chicken!

Honestly the weirdest fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. Probably the worst one I've had too tbh. It was really really acidic. Like it had been drenched in vinegar. The breading wasn't crunchy, but that was probably bc I took it to-go and it got soggy on the way home. The chicken was moist tho so that was good. Just did not vibe with the flavoring at all. I'll have to give it another shot in the future, maybe other stuff on the menu is better. Also, the sandwich ran me $20 ?! That's crazy expensive for just a sandwich

However, the vibes of the place were cool. Super divey and just seems like a good spot to hang out

Look, I don't care what you do with your miserable lives, but the Cadillac nachos are the best nachos on planet earth. I will die on that hill.

We were walking and stumbled, walking inside to a retro laid back bar. The first thing that caught my vibes is the reggae playing with the retro arcade and almost like you inside an old ship vibes.
Once we were at the bar, the beautiful bartender asked what we wanted, but I could tell she wasn't too keen on me and homegirl but whatever.
      We ordered the Pina colada!!!
Also, the Fried Chicken Plate w honey biscuits & sauces
The mac n cheese and the black eye peas stew (need some salt & pepper).
The fried chicken is a star itself....the crunch, BABY!!!! Juicy fried goodness. I'm definitely coming back.
Nah, dip that chicken in the sauces. The hot and hot hot sauces are really good with it.
The mac was IIGHT not my favorite.
Definitely coming back for that fried chicken and
Pina Colada cause it was hitting good.

Always the best food. Glad to see it hasn't changed since I've last been here 4 years ago! Bar has seating throughout but always packed as this place is great for drinks and fried chicken. Their nachos are super yummy too.

Order at the bar and they will bring the food to you. The nice thing but maybe sucky for people waiting for tables is that you can stay as long as you want at the tables, not mandatory to order food.

      There is also seating outside!

Holy fried chicken!!!! Some of my absolute fav fried chicken in the city. The Mac n cheese was so delish as well. Their frozen drinks transported me to New Orleans Bourbon St. Loved the vibes of this spot inside & out. Friendly staff. Will be back!

We went to The Commodore for group weekend brunch. It was a nice day, so we grabbed some tables outside. It was empty when we arrived, but filled up later.

The menu for brunch is different than what they serve later in the day. There were various egg dishes available, hash browns, grits, and day drinks. No fried chicken plate, but there was a chicken biscuit.

The chicken biscuit was a large, flattened chicken breast fried to perfection and topped with a drizzle of honey. It was filling enough for me and can't go wrong with their fried chicken.

I need to come back during dinner so I can get that famous chicken plate!

I'l preface this by saying that I'm more at a 3.5 than a 4. This bar perpetually has people sitting outside, no matter the time of year. I know their fried chicken is quite a hit and was even featured on a late night Munchies video once upon a time so definitely want to try it to see if it lives up to the hype.

I found myself here for a chill Tuesday drink and it wasn't crowded. Easily found a seat with my friend at the bar. The bartenders were okay, I wouldn't say super friendly. But honestly sometimes I prefer to be left alone rather than pestered. The drinks here are cheap and very strong so probably a good place to grab a quick drink on the way to another spot as a pregame. I probably wouldn't come here on any sort of date, but can picture it being good for larger groups as they have large booths.

Enjoyed a Pina Colada and snack at The Commodore on Saturday evening. It is a bar that gets crazy, but there is a clear reason why, solid food and strong drinks.

Quality: While my experience was colored by the hectic nature of the bar, it is hard to complain about my drink or food. They sling tasty Pina Coladas, which are their signature drink, and I will not complain about an opportunity to enjoy the frozen beverage. For food, I shared a Mild Breast Sandwich, which had good flavor and texture. Also, ordered a massive plate of salty fries to go along with it.
Quantity: Strong drinks and large food portions.
Value: $15 for a Pina Colada. $16 for the Mild Breast Sandwich. $9 for the Large French Fries.
Ambiance: The Commodore is a dive bar and fried chicken spot located in Williamsburg. It straddles bar and diner, but when packed it feels like a madhouse. The space is pretty large with booths in two different areas and a large bar in the second bigger space. When the weather is nice, they have some tables on the sidewalk and under a street shelter. The music was loud pop dance music, and the televisions that were on showed retro movies.
Crowd: Completely packed on Saturday evening. Standing-room only and lots of folks getting rowdy.
Service: Doing the best they could for a packed bar on a rainy day. Once people could spread outside, everyone was more cheerful.
Parking: Some street parking in the area.
