Full job description

Role Description:
A Robotic Welding Operator will be working within and supporting the team environment using good communication and interpersonal skills, while constantly striving to meet the daily requirements along with maintain a goal of zero downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Provide support in developing and improving welding processes
  • Set up and running of robotic mig weld cells and able to perform manual mig welding repairs as required.
  • Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by standard.
  • Examining sub-component parts and finished assemblies to blueprints using standard quality tools
  • Operating other equipment as necessary and directed by the manufacturing supervisor (grinding, sanding, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot part fit-up problems
  • Perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
  • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements.
  • Working safely as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Knowledge of robot basics and general mig welding maintenance (Fanuc,)
  • Controls knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, SLC 500 and SLC 5000 family of controls and HMI)
  • Provide support in the analysis and resolution of weld equipment failures

Education/Experience/Certifications:
To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:
Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Three to five years as a weld technician in a manufacturing environment.

Certifications:

  • 2 year certificate in an electronic/electrician or robotic weld technical program or equivalent experience preferred

Additional Skills Required:
To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following skills are required:
Computer skills:

  • Experience with basic computer systems.

Communication skills:

  • Speak effectively with fellow employees or customers.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical skills:

  • Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra.

Other Skills:

  • Detail oriented.
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
