Sometimes it can be a lot of work or stressful.

Pros
Learn a lot about printers, copiers, PC repairs, and people. E-training for different printers, networking devices, and other hardware. The installation and configuration of operating systems, enterprise software, and other programs.
Cons
Unreal time frame repair windows. Low pay for field technicians. As an independent contractor I had negotiate a fee for each job. Wasn't paid mileage. Service desk wasn't organize or professional.

Pros
There is nothing good to say about this company.
Cons
They do not pay well and expect you to work non stop. They only look out for themselves and do not care about their employees at all. Very shady business practices.

Pros
Pay quick, Decent amount of work available.
Cons
The bartering of rates is a disgrace. Low pay and having to beg for expense reimbursement is a headache. Just not worth it sometimes

Pros
You can make some money & add some knowledge & experience.
Cons
Dispatch chases you constantly. They are not in sync at all. You will get calls from different people referring to the same work order. Many times within minutes. Dispatch workers many times sound like telemarketers following a script as they read off the desciption of the order that they themselves don't understand. If they can't get you on the phone. Say you are driving or onsite, basically times when you either can't pickup or rude to a client. They will spam call your phone & do so from different numbers. If you do pickup onsite they will offer you other orders despite their own rules of not discussing rates onsite. If you say you are onsite they don't care & will press you for your rate anyways. Some of them at times will get smart with you. Say u troubleshoot a printer & have done the steps to find a resolution... their techs will have you go through what you already did all over again. Which adds more time onsite equaling lower hourly rate given you are there per diem. If you say you did that already they wont care & want an image sent. It can turn quickly into an argument....which that tech will get mad & decide to not pay you. Marking the order as tech not able to do work even if you yourself solve the issue. As for getting paid... make sure you keep records of every work order you do because they will miss paying you on some & make it hard for you when you inquire about it. The pay resolution dept or person obviously doesnt care.

Pros

4 - 1.0Field Service TechnicianFormer Employee, more than 1 year
Pros
There wasnt any to talk about.
Cons
The department i worked for dealt with servicing and maintaining printing devices. Alot of empty promises. We were given a flat rate of 300 a month driving our personal car no matter the miles youve driven. Laughable management that were unknowledgeable of the process on handling calls.

Pros
I thrive on a fast-paced environment and tend to do my best when challenged. If is for this reason that Barrister and I are a fit. I am challenged everyday with new assignments and working directly for upper management, which can be stressful in itself. I prefer a work day that goes by so quickly from being busy that it's time to clock out before you know it. Barrister has a lot to offer someone who is looking for a work "home" and a place to learn and grow. You are given the opportunity to grow within the company and there is great potential to move up and to make lateral moves. I have seen individuals here that were not a "right" fit for certain positions and instead of releasing them from employment, Barrister looks to place that person where they will excel for themselves and for the company. If you are looking for a career and not just a job, if you are willing to work hard for the rewards of success when you complete a task and complete it well, if you are looking for a team that works together as a team, then Barrister could be a great place for you also.
Cons
If you do not like to work hard, then Barrister is not the place for you. You are even told this before you ever come to interview. Fast-paced environments can be stressful. Sometimes you think a task is too much for you, but after being pushed and accomplishing, it is a great win for you personally.
