It’s ok
Employee (Current Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - February 8, 2024
The days here run together because there is little change. I go in, I research invoices, do a few other things, and watch a co worker play on his phone and do nothing. The only thing I have learned here is that if you do a good job they assign more work. A co worker left the company and I was told that a replacement would be hired “when the economy gets better.” I now get to do that job as well as mine. Some management is better than others. Our HR department is a joke. They let employees get away with threatening other employees and they do nothing. This happens in front of the employees supervisors. The culture here is good if you are in the cliques and in good with the maintenance manager…then you can do whatever you want and get away with it. There is no room for growth unless you are in this clique. The pay is descent although from what I see all employees in a department make the same. You are not paid based on the length of time you are there, you are paid what that department happens to make at that time. The best part of the job is that there is an on site nurse that you can see when you need to. That is free so it is definitely a perk to the company.
Pros
On-site nurse
Cons
Favoritism at its finest

Decent Pay with Great Work/Life Balance
Crew Laborer (Current Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - June 8, 2023
All-in-all, Auriga is a pretty decent place to work with somewhat laid-back management. They of course, like all employers, have little hangups about certain things, like writing "tickets" to employees that back into parking spaces instead of pulling into them. Lol Trivial stuff. Pay is O.K...not keeping up with current inflation, but probably not the worst you'll find. Those on manual labor crews work a 4 on/ 4 off schedule, so the work/life balance is about the best you'll ever find. That is generally the saving-grace. There is however, a pretty big disparity between the manual jobs and the salaried staff. Auriga sports a heavily bloated blue-collar staff, most of whom are there to hold down a desk or participate in brainstorming sessions that accomplish nothing. I have personally seen entirely new positions created for middle-management to entice former manual labor employees back to the company, after they left for being undervalued, and upper-management had no idea how to run the shop, further bloating the desk-jockey issue. There are probably more salaried staff at this manufacturing facility than there are manual laborers. This is coming from someone with a decade of experience at the company. Another issue is the legacy employees. The plant, having been built in the 1960's has many older employees age 50 and up, that have worked at the plant for 30, 40 and even some nearing 50 years. Right or wrong, these employees are entrenched into the best positions, in the best departments available, and unfortunately if they aren't your supervisor, they started working there 35 -
Pros
Decent Pay, good work/life balance
Cons
Hard to advance career, apathetic management, less than stellar job culture

Easy work, decent pay, and good co workers, but…
Operator (Current Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - February 21, 2023
For the amount of work you do the pay is pretty good, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of room for advancement. Also, it seems that the only way to move up is to be the “teachers pet” so to speak. I work with some great co workers, so it’s not all that bad.

Auriga is good, Indorama is not
Accountant (Former Employee) - Spartanburg - November 11, 2022
The people at Auriga was always very friendly. I can't say the same about the ownership group at indorama. Their business needs came before your life at any time. American holidays doesn't matter to them. You are a number that belongs to them and they do not care for you other than a robot.

Not a good place to work
Operator (Current Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - October 29, 2022
Pay is decent.. managers do not care about their employees. Mandatory 16 hour days even if you work your scheduled 12 hours and have something come up and leave it still counts against you…. Hardly ever get breaks..training is a joke. There is a buddy system here, managers talk down on employees. Can’t get help when a machine goes down.

Productive, is a good place to work.
Operator 4 (Current Employee) - Producction Services - May 16, 2022
Is a very easy job to do sometimes like everywhere we have hard and busy days, but most of the time it is a good day. I learned a lot here. The hard part is that they have a swing shift. Days and nights

Auriga - still living in 1979
Engineer (Former Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - January 25, 2022
This facility is literally falling apart. Roof leaks, paint chipping off the buildings, even the visitor center looks like something from the early 1980's. To try to recruit new employees, the exterior of the facility and the interior (especially the main canteen) need to be upgraded. There are a lot of good people that work here, however, the hiring process, orientation and training seem to be somewhat dysfunctional. No signage in the plant to tell where to go, even still have a smoking booth...... who still does that?
Pros
Benefits were ok, good employees and some management cared about the employees
Cons
This place is literally falling apart. Needs an update ASAP

Company with outdated views on employee compensation
Production Worker (Current Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - September 27, 2021
Auriga has withstood multiple buyouts over a 50 year period. Unfortunately compensation is outdated with new employees being offered higher salaries and hourly rates than long term employees. Seasoned and experienced employees have walked off of the job to restart their careers elsewhere due to an increasingly toxic work environment. Most of the actual workers are forced to deal with making outdated equipment and systems work for the time being. This company needs to quit hiring so many managers that sit in meetings all day and get an HR department that will actually hire competent employees.
Pros
Good 401k matching program and benefits
Cons
No incentives for great work, outdated equipment

Decent money. Bad management
Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - September 1, 2021
Management is lackluster, it’s always trickle down with no one really knowing what’s going on until the bad has already happened. Some days are better than other but usually it’s the same old same old
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Bad management, bad production planning

Good benefits if a true employee. Contractors are treated very differently
Accounting (Former Employee) - Chesnee, SC - July 29, 2021
I was hired through a recruiter service to work in the accounting department during a transition to 3rd party. I felt like there was a lot of flexibility for the full-time employees. However, the contractors were picked out for any errors or time off needed, no option to work remote even though it was a option to anyone else in the department. When people write reviews saying this place is flexible, if you work for the administrative side of it, be expected if you are a contractor/temp to be handled strictly as opposed to the actual full-time employees. There is not a lot of transparency. I was only there four months I was told by the recruiting firm that I would be there are at least eight months and I was told 2 1/2 months into the job that they were going to be done with contractors at third-quarter. Think twice about working here unless you’re getting directly hired. This place while some employees were great to work with there is a lot of issues outside of accounting management many folks dealt with because of their years of loyalty to the company. In the time I was there 4 people in 2 years were in the same role. Do research first for this company.
Pros
Company lunch
Cons
Being a contractor, expecting flexibility, and overall work stress that could be avoided with better employee count and mangement.

Sense of family
Chemical Lab Intern (Former Employee) - Spartanburg, SC - January 20, 2020
The work environment gives you a sense of family away from home. Team work and improvement is always encouraged and you will most likely want work here for years and years because of that.
