Biography

Anna Whipple was born about 1628 in Bocking, Essex, England, daughter of Matthew Whipple. [1] [2]

She married first about 1647, John Annable of Ipswich, who came with Whittingham as his servant in 1638. [3] [4]

John was a tailor and in 1647 he bought land in Ipswich of the executor of Mathew Whipple. He was apparently a freeman in 1648. [5] [3]

John Annable died Oct. 8, 1664 at Ipswich. [6] His estate was inventoried on Nov. 7, 1664.

The widow Anna married Nicholas Clapp of Dorchester subsequent to July 14, 1666 as on April 15,1667 Nicholas Clapp and wife Anna, late wife of John Annable of Ipswich deceased, and his administratrix, now of Dorchester, sell property to Jonathan Wade (Ipswich Deeds IV: 119)

On the May 23, 1672 Nicholas Clapp and his wife Anna, sell to son-in-law John Annable, a dwelling house and an acre of land there. (Ipswich Deeds III,318.)

Nicholas Clapp died Nov. 24, 1679.
