Progressive, Asi Lloyds Partner to Offer Discounts in Texas

June 6, 2007

Progressive County Mutual, a member of the Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, and ASI Lloyds announced they will each offer discounts on their products to Texans who buy both through a local independent insurance agent beginning June 8.

Progressive will offer a homeowners discount of up to 8 percent on their private passenger auto product when the customer has an ASI Lloyds’ HO-3 homeowners policy and ASI Lloyds will offer its customers a 10 percent discount to its customers who have a Progressive private passenger auto policy bought through the same independent agent.

In Texas, Progressive is the fourth largest private passenger auto insurance writer. ASI is the fifth largest homeowners writer through independent agents, the announcement said.

According to the companies, calculation and verification of the discount is seamless to agents, and quoting on both companies’ systems is easy. As an example, with this program, a married man and woman, 37 and 36, respectively, driving a 2005 Toyota Camry and a 2002 Ford Taurus, living in Austin in a $200,000 home built in 1994 could receive a $41 discount every six months on their Progressive auto insurance policy and a $99 annual discount on their ASI Lloyd’s homeowners policy. The discounts are available to both new and renewing customers.

In Texas, Progressive has more than 3,000 independent agents and ASI Lloyds has more than 850. Agents appointed with both companies can offer the discounts; those affiliated with only one company can apply immediately for appointment with the other in order to have the discounts available to their customers.
