Notable Apps
Mini WebCam

Mini WebCam

by pripares

Mini WebCam is so close to being an essential app. The free app sends a live video stream out of your iPhone. You can select the quality level and even use your iPhone 4s flashlight. Unfortunately, there is no access to the front camera and the microphone is not used. Those are two big features that are missing. Still, this is one of the best free apps out there for streaming video.

JumiCam Webcam streamer

JumiCam Webcam streamer

by JumiTech

JumiCam works in conjunction with a desktop or laptop computer. This app will recieve video streams from as many cameras as you can set up. The app works over 3G and is one of the best we have found for computer to iPhone streaming. The downside is you need a Windows computer for it to run. If you have Windows, this is a great app.

CloudCam

CloudCam

by Maymudes Bros.

CloudCam lets you share what your iPhone camera is seeing with the world. Rather than a video feed it will send out an image every few seconds. This technology enables you to have longer battery life, but you lose audio and an actual live video feed in the process. The interface and setup is as easy as they come. If you don’t need a true video stream, this may be the app for you.

JustView

JustView

by KC.Neo

JustView is a free app that sends photos from a computer’s web cam to this app. You need to be on the same Wi-Fi network for the app to work. The functionality is very basic and not very advanced. For a free app it is okay. We would love to see a paid version that has even more advanced features.

Decent Apps
iphCAM

iphCAM

by mkanda

Another option is iphCAM. The $1.99 app has many of the limitations the other apps do. The setup and configuration is very easy. There is nothing that makes this app stand out above the others. It is a decent app, but nothing more.

Air Cam Live Video

Air Cam Live Video

by Senstic

Air Cam Live Video works okay. We had problems getting the 3G access to work. For local Wi-Fi streaming the app worked great. There are some nice features like motion detection, which triggers the video to start. There is night mode and even two-way video streaming. This one will need a Mac or Windows computer to work as the host. The app acts as a viewer of your computer's web cam. Air Cam Live Video is okay, but really needs some work before we can fully recommend it.
