What Owners are Saying About the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
"I’ve had a few issues..."
"Bought my car from the dealership with less then 60,000 miles on it and I had electrical issues with the power windows, got it fixed at the dealership as well as needing new spark plugs. Here I am 3 years later having the same issues with the windows yet again. There is a wire the connects to the starter that kept frying which would leave me or my fiancé stranded, turns out that’s very common for this year. We had a mechanic friend fix it for us and so far it’s held up. About 3 years into having the car the rear differential broke which caused it to smoke (no noise no leaking beforehand). But other then these issues it drives AWESOME in the snow and I actually enjoy driving my Jeep. Hopefully it will last another 100,000 miles"
"Recommend, especially for averaged size people"
"Laredo V-6 engine, 4WD. Bought the car new. Handed down to my daughter in college. Has been rock solid overall. PROS: Reliable. Only issue was a power window and air conditioner went out. Beast in the snow if you have decent tires. Gas mileage not great. 5 star safety. Easy to park. Easy to drive. Decent pickup for V6. Lifetime drive train warranty was a big initial purchase factor. I am 6-5 300lbs and drove the car for 10 years. Can't say it felt roomy but was never uncomfortable, even on long drives (10)+ hours). CONS Rear seating is terrible as it is for all jeeps it seems. I am not sure why they can't get this right but no legroom in the back. Rear seat does not fold flat with the front seats back. Lots of plastic in the interior. Expected nicer finishes but got a great deal when purchased new. Exterior door handles seem a little flimsy."
"Never left me on the side of the road!"
"I have loved our Jeep Grand Cherokee, as never has it left us on the side of the road. I have well over 200,000 miles and feel torn trading the car in. I am a single Mom with four busy kids and this car is like part of the family! This car was my pick because if I am in an accident, it will keep my family safe. I don't want my kids in a tin can!"
