What travelers are saying
- 04MissyColumbus13 contributionsWe took lots of photos! The kids enjoyed the hands on with the small animals from one of the add on purchases. They allowed them plenty of time with them and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Very nice tour guide and the gift shop manager was so nice and friendly. They make sure your visit was everything you thought it should be.Written June 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carmi2colorado35 contributionsI spent 4+ hours underground and it was fascinating. Salt walls all around us in what looks like an endless tunnel systems. I went on 3 different rides, each is a bit different, and each is just an interesting. the most interesting one is Salt Safari Shuttle where the guide takes you (on a little train) to far away area of the mine and has lots of explanations about the mine and its history. The other tours only allow questions at the end. It's part of the Combo: Salt Blast Pass & Salt Safari Shuttle.

The giraffes were my favorite. I highly recommend feeding them. The ladies in charge of this were knowledgeable and very friendly. Even though I was alone, they made me feel very welcomed and spent time taking pictures of me feeding the giraffes. It was kind of small but nice for a few hours. Do not ride the train. You literally didn’t see but one or two animals on the train ride it took you kind of in the back of the zoo. There wasn’t much to see. I was really disappointed in it. You could not hear anything the announcer was saying.Written May 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - billhordyKansas City, MO239 contributionsI moved to KC about 9 years ago finally made it to Eisenhower Presidential Library, well worth it.
Mid week visit there was a school trip and few couples so it wasn't to crowded. Plenty of time to read and view all the exhibits.
Overall it was very interesting and gave a good history of Dwight Eisenhower life and career. If you have the time visit the boyhood home.
Learned alot.

Parking makes it very easy to get into.Written April 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- William BSarasota, FL337 contributionsI was happy I was able to see it but I sort of feel it's kind of overrated. This is why, at the time I was there around 11:00 in the morning there weren't many people around and the few that I saw were just walking or passing through. I think it would look more attractive at night when it's lit up. Also they really should have souvenir replicas of it because I believe it would be a good seller.Written May 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JustGo30 contributionsBeautiful gardens - so many different varieties of plants. Landscape architecture hardscape was surprising and different. Offered lovely amount of shade. Fantastic kid's area - so creative and interactive. Even if you don't have children - you must visit this area. Also, don't miss the Japanese garden! Lovely ladies that ran the ticket booth were very helpful. We visited in October and while there were many species to observe, they had the area decked out in Halloween and some areas were blocked off for special events.Written October 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carmi2colorado35 contributionsGreat educational movies, lots of space information starting from WW2 and later.
Actual space artifacts (vehicles, rockets, rovers) on site. Kids will love the Dr. Goddard show which is hands on explanation about rocket fuels and little explosions (but nothing to worry about). Anyone who likes space will enjoy this
I didn't give it a 5 because some of the artifacts didn't have plaque explaining about what they are (e.g. there was a mars rover, a replica or maybe an initial model, but no plaque giving details)Written June 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Everything inside costs a few dollars more but you can skip all that and still have a good time.Written April 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tim TCrossville, TN60 contributionsThe history tour and dome tour were both awesome (although the dome tour is not for everyone due to the 296 steps up and down). You see the Senate and House chambers as well as the former Supreme Court room which is now used for committee meetings. Our excellent tour for both tours was Darren who was outstanding!Written May 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SCBeglWI33 contributionsWe were very impressed with this museum! So much history behind the legend. Would recommend this museum, see it before it moves to Las Vegas if you are in the Topeka Kansas area or not.Written June 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally SFort Littleton, PA126 contributionsIt was pretty empty. I’m not sure if we hit an off day for the experience or if it’s in decline. In pictures on TripAdvisor the experience looks like there would be re-enactors throughout the town but we had a fake gunfight and that was it. Picture also show a horse. Not a horse could be found, we did see a sheep. Map shows a larger Indian village and trading post but we saw one teepee. It was a great gunfight and we loved that part but the info in the buildings is difficult to read. It’d be nice if some info was always maybe at a podium like date of building and original purpose. It seemed like it had a ton of potential and fell short.Written May 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
