The Eagle Bahn Gondola ascends out of the Lionshead pedestrian village in Vail, CO. This gondola gives skiers and snowboarders direct access to terrain that ranges from easy (Green Circle) to difficult (Black Diamond). Foot passengers can also ride this gondola to get to Eagle’s Nest and the Game Creek Club throughout the day and night.

Gondola One

This gondola is new (Winter 2012) and it runs between the Vista Bahn base area and Mid-Vail. Gondola One is named after the original Vail gondola which stood in the same place. This heated gondola carries 10 passengers on a 7 1/2 minute ride up to the Mid-Vail area.

Nighttime Gondola Operation

The Eagle Bahn Gondola is open at night throughout most of the winter and summer to give vacationers access to the Eagle Bahn restaurants and the Game Creek restaurant (Usually opened Tuesday – Saturday). There are also numerous nighttime activities that are available at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola like tubing and snowmobiling for kids.

Summer Gondola Operation Info

Hikers, mountain bikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts are allowed to use the Vail gondola to access the mountain during the summer season. You are allowed to carry your mountain bike inside of the gondola and this can result in a fast and fun decent down the mountain with several mtn biking trails to choose from.
